Mark Mallett

Picture

Singing and playing guitar since the age of nine, Mark Mallett is a Canadian singer/songwriter & Catholic evangelist. Since leaving his career as a successful  television journalist in 2000, Mark has been touring extensively throughout North America and abroad giving parish missions & concerts, and speaking and ministering at retreats, conferences and Catholic schools. He had the privilege of singing at the Vatican and presenting his music to Pope Benedict XVI.  Mark has appeared on EWTN's Life on the Rock as well as on a number of other television and radio broadcasts. While singing a song he had written for the Liturgy of the Mass ("Holy, Holy, Holy"), Mark felt drawn to go to the church and pray before the Blessed Sacrament. It was there that He heard the Lord calling him to become a watchman for this generation, as Pope John Paul II asked the youth at World Youth Day in Toronto, Canada.

With that, and under the care of his spiritual directors, Mark began to publish meditations on the internet to prepare the Church for the dramatic times we live in. They are now read by thousands throughout the world (www.markmallett.com/blog). Mark also recently published a summary of those writings in the Fall of 2009 in a book called The Final Confrontation.  At the same time, Mark  has also launched the second phase of his ministry in a weekly webcast called Embracing  Hope. Mark and his wife Lea have eight beautiful children together and make their home in Western Canada.

Elizabeth Ficocelli

Picture
Elizabeth Ficocelli was born in New York where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. By adolescence, she grew dissatisfied with the lack of answers to her questions about certain beliefs. When her future husband, Mark, invited her to Mass on their college campus, she experienced for the first time a spiritual connection with her fellow worshippers and a deepening love for God.  Once Elizabeth entered the Catholic Church in 1983, she immersed herself in reading everything she could about her new faith. She began with supernatural phenomena such as Eucharistic Miracles, stigmata and apparitions, then progressed to Church history, the saints, and apologetics (the defense of the faith.) The more she read, the more reasons Elizabeth found to love the Catholic faith. She asked God how she could share her love of his Church with others, and he showed her the answer: through her writing.

In the year 2000, after a 20-year career in advertising, Elizabeth launched a new ministry in spiritual writing for young people and adults. For children, she has published a series of children’s sacramental books, a series on vocations awareness, and a chapter book on how to follow Jesus. For teens and young adults, she has published a book on Divine wonders such as Eucharistic miracles and the stigmata. For adults, she has written books on the sacraments, Lourdes, Medjugorje, and Saint Therese of Lisieux. Elizabeth has also published eleven articles in national Catholic magazines including St. Anthony Messenger, Liguorian, America, Columbia, Catholic Parent, Take Out (Our Sunday Visitor), and Lay Witness Online. 2007 saw the introduction of her first secular children’s book, Kid Tea.

In addition to her writing, Elizabeth is a popular speaker at conferences, parishes, schools, and events. She is also the host of a radio program called "Answering The Call."  Elizabeth resides with her husband and four boys in Ohio, where their Catholic faith remains the center of their family life.

Mother Margaret Mary, Children of Mary

Picture
Mother Margaret Mary was raised Catholic and educated by the Sisters of Charity in both elementary and high school.  She attended a university that was Catholic in name only, and after hearing the theology professor tell the class they didn’t have to listen to the Pope, confused as to who to believe- the Sisters who taught her or the Catholic college professor, she abandoned the Faith.  So began a journey seeking truth and meaning.  During that time she taught elementary school and received a MA degree in counseling. In the early days of the feminist movement, she began to read their literature, bought into their propaganda, and became anti-Catholic because women couldn’t be priests.  But eighteen years later, some of her friends invited her to a Catholic retreat.  At the retreat a priest prayed over her.  As the priest prayed, it seemed like a cloud lifted from her head and she saw clearly that the Catholic Church’s teachings were true.  A few hours later she went to confession, and when the priest gave her absolution her soul was flooded with great joy, and now she lives to spread love for Our Lord and His Holy Catholic Church.

In 1989 she moved to rural Licking County and lived as a hermit for 12 years.  In 2002 Mother Margaret Mary was consecrated by Bishop James A. Griffin who gave her her religious name and his blessing to form the community of Sisters, the Children of Mary, to proclaim to the world the beauty of the Catholic Faith and that the Eucharist is truly Jesus, the living God Incarnate!
